Sorry for posting a crappy picture of my camera’s screen, but I’m really excited about this photo and can’t download it to my laptop until this evening. The main reason I’m excited about it is that I feel like it actually captures something. It feels real. It’s not just a landscape where lights in the distance turned the sky unusual colors. I’ll probably continue to take and share those photos, but, lately, I’ve felt that that’s not enough. I want to take more photos that actually mean something. I want to step out of my comfort zone, and ultimately, I think I’d like to put together a set, based around some kind of central theme, that I could, if I so choose, show and/or sell. 

I guess what it boils down to is that I’m growing tired of just being a “picture taker.” 

“New Orleans based photographer” has a really nice ring to it…
